Let me be honest:

These days, there’s a lot of greed, overinflated egos, false promises, and irrational ideas out there which are either already deeply embedded or quietly festering in every industry, practice, or idea that can turn a profit. Many people are living in both economically hard times and spiritually, emotionally, socially unfulfilling environments or circumstances. There is desperation, confusion, and a void in the zeitgeist that people are trying to fill. There is a rise in cult activities, Multi-level Marketing scams and gambling, all of which seek to take your money (and sometimes much more) with the false hope or promise that you are somehow “investing in yourself,” that it is necessary for your spiritual development, or that you will get rich quickly.

This sickens me, and happens to be an aspect of spirituality and human psychology that I am interested in and want to help do something about. I have been heavily influenced by many of the individuals who have greatly influenced New Age ideas such as Alan Watts and Carl Jung. I want to be a part of the renewal and evolution of spirituality that is unfolding in our times. Yet I hate to see the ways in which people are using important values and concepts in selfish or harmful ways. If someone is charging a lot for a service or product that is not providing a high degree of self evident or objective value by marketing it as an investment in yourself. . . . then you are not investing in yourself. You are investing in someone else.

At the moment I have a steady job and save and invest wisely. I am seeking to give and gain valuable experience with my extra time, with the goal of getting a master’s degree in counseling later down the line. It may not always be the case that I can offer most of my services for free, but for the time being this is a great opportunity if you are interested.

I promise you this:

• Real help: not attractive, soothing buzzwords for the sake of catchy marketing or value signaling to extend our work

• Reasonable hourly rate for the value I provide

• Pointing you towards free or affordable content, services, and options

• I am here to help you solve problems and to gradually educate you about how to help yourself. I am not here to sell you on the idea that you should “invest in yourself” through what I have to offer. The quality of the value you receive in proportion to the time and money you spend should always speak for itself.

• I will teach you what “investing in yourself” REALLY means and what is and is NOT a good investment of your money, time and energy so that you don’t find yourself investing in others with little to no return.
